I end up at a screen which says “please select windosw device driver you want to install for this hardware” – but there is xdaptec listed and no obvious way of inputting the details. MertonEarl Replied on February 11, Can I do that?
Did this solve your problem? I’m thinking if I install the drivers onto my desktop here Windows 7 will finally read it. Thanks for your time and effort – all I’ve got to wondows now is find the correct driver for the scanner itself!

I adwptec having difficulty installing this card which I wish to use with my Epson GT same as Perfection S scanner. I thought, why not try and add them to my HP desktop so they can hold some large files like movies?

Quite why this route worked when the other one wouldn’t is beyond my technical assessment!! So I went to google to see if I could find installation directions, I kept finding incredibly dated threads that talked about floppy discs haha and all kinds of other things, then I found a cached website giving directions but they talked about how the Driver was imbedded into the OS installation disc.
